Ancestry.com/activate

Ancestry DNA is a digital facility to help you reveal your family history. It is an excellent service if someone wants to go back to their family background. The company has made the DNA investigation easier by providing a testing kit. The person who wants to take the test can buy the kit from the website at ancestrydna.com/activate. And then, they can send a test sample to Ancestry DNA after activating the kit from ancestry.com/activate. Kindly refer to the following sections of this article to acquire more knowledge about using and activating the DNA test kit.

How to share Ancestry DNA results?

Ancestry allows you to make accessible your test results on more than one account. Note that the DNA results can't be moved to another account, but with the owner's permission, they can be visible for multiple accounts at once. For this, the result holder will need to send invites for people who want to see them. Here is how.

  • 1. Go to Ancestry and access a web page. Hit the DNA tab and choose the option called Your DNA Results Summary.
  • 2. On the following page, hit Settings from the upper right corner.
  • 3. Go down for the Privacy section and select Sharing Preferences; after that, tap Change near DNA Ethnicity and Matches.
  • 4. Hit Add a person.
  • 5. Here, provide the email address or username of that person who wants to see your test results. The website will send an invitation through an email address.
  • 6. Decide what you want to choose from Viewer, Collaborator, or Manager. A viewer is the one who can only see the result. A collaborator is the one who can see results along with adding notes, changing participant details, and linking tests to a tree. A manager has more rights compared to a viewer and collaborator.
  • 7. Finally, press the Send Invitation option.
